G-Class

Looking a lot like the postal vehicle for some wealthy gated community, the full-size G-Class sport-utility vehicle is an exclusive ride, but remains something of a desired taste. Handcrafted in Graz, Austria , the big-and-boxy vehicle debuts a performance-minded G55 AMG version for 2005 that's powered by a 469-horsepower supercharged V-8 engine. The new model also includes unique chrome trim, dual side-exit exhaust pipes and 18-inch wheels. Otherwise, the standard G500 V-8 powerplant produces 292 horsepower and 336 lb-ft of torque, and is mated to a five-speed automatic transmission. Anti-lock brakes with brake assist and brakeforce distribution, Electronic Stability Program, a navigation system, multi-contour power leather seats, a Harman Kardon premium CD audio system, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and rear parking-assist proximity alarms are among the vehicle's many performance and luxury features.
