New for 2006, the Zephyr is a stylish and capable mid-size luxury sedan that's based on the Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan (which, in turn, are derived from the Mazda6 sedan). This is the most upscale version, however, with a plusher wood-and-aluminum-trimmed interior, more handsome exterior treatment, and ample creature comforts. The five-passenger sedan comes powered by a 3.0-liter V-6 engine that generates 210 horsepower and 200 lb-ft of torque; it drives the front wheels via a six-speed automatic gearbox. A four-wheel independent suspension with 17-inch wheels and tires promises crisp handling with a relatively smooth ride. Four-wheel disc anti-lock brakes with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution and Traction Assist are both included, as are front-side and side-curtain airbags; the latter includes a "roll-fold" feature that's designed to slide the airbag in place between the window and an occupant, should he or she be leaning against the glass at the time of a side impact.

I've had my 2006 Zepher for 3 years and absolutely LOVE IT! I highly recommend buying one. The ride is fantastic! It's a smooth and elegant ride. Drives like a charm. haven't had any issues, problems with it. I don't understand why people say the ride "lags" when the car is fully occupied. I didn't find that. The tilt steering wheel has numerous options that should satify every driver. Bottom line-luv the car and can't say enough about it. If people complain and have issues, then maybe they should think about trading it it..........
