LS

Lincoln's smallest sedan gets a redesigned front bumper for 2005, with side-curtain airbags, power-adjustable pedals, and extended Rear Park Assist now available across the model line. The LS shares platforms and powertrains with the Jaguar S-Type, and delivers adequate performance from either a 232-horsepower 3.0-liter V-6 or 280-horsepower 3.9-liter V-8 engine; both drive the rear wheels via a five-speed automatic transmission that's been revised for '05 to produce smoother shifts. Anti-lock brakes, front side airbags, and traction control are standard, with AdvanceTrak stability control optional. A new LSE option group was added last year that included more aggressive front and rear styling cues, fog lamps, and 17-inch seven-spoke aluminum wheels, with a wood-trimmed dashboard.
