The 2009 Lexus RX 350 offers the luxury features buyers expect from a Lexus—and one of the best audio systems on the market. Edmunds notes, “a stunning Mark Levinson audio system and a rear-seat DVD entertainment system with wireless headphones” are offered, "but the Mark Levinson system is only available as part of a pricey package.”

Expensive packages are about the only way to upgrade the RX 350. Other Choices:

While the Lexus RX 350 reigns supreme in delivering on luxury, it's more of a Costco-style everyman's luxury; it just doesn’t stand out the way some other vehicles in this class do. Dynamically, the Acura MDX is a better-handling vehicle, and all of the other competitors listed offer available V-8 engine options that transmit much more power. And the Audi Q7 and BMW X5 now have available turbodiesel engines, bringing better fuel economy with near-V-8 power. If you need additional room for kids, the Cadillac, BMW, and Audi all come with small third-row seats.
