Range Rover

This full-size luxury sport-utility vehicle receives a mid-cycle makeover for 2006 and becomes the fastest Range Rover ever, thanks to a newly available 400-horsepower supercharged 4.8-liter V-8 engine. An updated version of the standard 4.4-liter V-8 produces 350 horses, which is 35 percent more muscle than last year's powerplant. It allows the vehicle to tow as much as 7700 pounds. Subtle styling changes include a revised front grille and bumper, power vents, lamps, and 19-inch wheels. Meanwhile, the supercharged version flashes a diamond-mesh front grille and power vents, 20-inch alloy wheels, and special black-on-silver badging. Braking and steering performance are also enhanced overall, and the vehicle's air suspension is revised. Newly offered are adaptive headlights, a tire-pressure monitor, touch-screen controls for audio, phone, and driving information, a rear-view video monitor, an available rear seat entertainment system, and Sirius satellite radio.
