Freelander

Awaiting a major makeover for 2007, the smallest Land Rover continues with only minor updates for 2006. It remains available in two- and four-door versions, though this may be the last year a two-door Freelander will be sold in the U.S. Power continues comes from a 177-horsepower 2.5-liter V-6 engine that's coupled with a five-speed automatic transmission with manual-shift capability and Hill-Descent Control. All-wheel drive and all-terrain anti-lock brakes with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution are standard. Available luxury items include Park Distance Control, a Harmon Kardon premium audio system, a power sunroof, and heated leather seats. The two-door comes with larger (17-inch) wheels and tires, a more powerful Harmon Kardon premium audio system, and a removable glass/metal roof.
