In addition to a number of interior and exterior enhancements made across the line, a new Diesel Liberty was introduced last year. It's fitted with a 2.8-liter turbodiesel engine that produces 160 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque, and gets top fuel economy, though it's a noisy powerplant. Meanwhile, a 150-horsepower 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine remains the standard powerplant, while an optional 3.7-liter V-6 delivers a quicker and smoother 210 horses with 235 lb-ft of torque. Four-wheel disc brakes are included, and a six-speed-manual transmission is newly available as an alternative to the standard five-speed manual gearbox. A number of Special Order Packages are available that allow for a wide degree of cosmetic and mechanical customization. Few changes are in store for 2006.
