XJ Series

An extended-length version of the elegant XJ luxury sedan is added to the lineup for 2005 that rides on a longer (by five inches) wheelbase than the standard version and offers 4.5 added inches of rear knee room. Its back doors are also longer for easier access to and exiting from the rear seating area. Both standard and extended models make extensive use of lightweight aluminum construction and come powered by a 294-horsepower 4.2-liter V-8 engine. A six-speed automatic transmission drives the rear wheels, while a self-leveling computer-controlled air suspension and an array of chassis control systems are on hand to compliment the car's ride-and-handling qualities. For those with more of a sporting nature, the top XJR model packs a blazing 390 horsepower and includes brake and suspension upgrades, along with other added amenities. Among the XJ's long list of standard and available features is an optional multi-user multi-media entertainment system that includes two separate back-seat video screens embedded in the front-seat headrests.

Bigger is better - and more slimming, too.
