X-Type

A Sportwagon version of Jaguar's X-Type debuted for 2005, bringing an added level of practicality to Jaguar's smallest vehicle. Buyers can choose between a 192-horsepower 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and a 227-horsepower 3.0-liter V-6, with all-wheel drive standard. For 2006, a five-speed-automatic transmission is included across the line. Standard features include four-wheel disc anti-lock brakes with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution and front side and side-curtain airbags. An available Sport Package features Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), a sport-tuned suspension, 18-inch wheels and tires, and a rear spoiler. For 2006, the car adopts a new frontal design across the entire model range highlighted by chrome mesh grille inserts, for a more aggressive and contemporary look. New options include Sirius satellite radio, Bluetooth wireless phone capability, and revised alloy wheel designs. Indigo replaces Pacific Blue, and Winter Gold replaces Topaz on the exterior color palette.
