Infiniti's flagship sedan is refreshed for 2005 with a more-distinctive and aggressive-looking appearance that includes redesigned fascias, hood and grille, newly integrated fog lamps, and LED-based taillamps. The car's spacious and comfortable interior now includes multi-contour seats, and a new active suspension system promises added handling prowess while maintaining a smooth luxury-car ride. The rear-drive Q45's 4.5-liter V-8 engine continues to generate 340 horsepower, and is coupled to a five-speed automatic transmission with manual-shift capability. There's no shortage of standard safety and chassis-control systems on hand, which include front side and side-curtain airbags, four-wheel-disc anti-lock brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution, traction control, and Vehicle Dynamic Control. As before a long list of both practical and fanciful features are offered. Front seat passengers can avail themselves of climate-controlled front seats and voice-activated audio, climate and navigation systems. The Q45's laser-based intelligent laser-guided cruise control comes with a preview-braking function, while a rear-view video monitor is available to help make parallel parking easier and safer.
