G35

Infiniti's mid-size G35 comes as either a two-door performance coupe or a sporty sedan that comes with rear- or all-wheel drive, both offering ample luxury, distinctive styling, and exhilarating performance. Coupes share platforms with the Nissan 350Z, but unlike the Z, include a small back seat. The standard 3.5-liter V-6 engine generates 277 horsepower in the sedan, while it's rated at 280 horsepower in the base coupe. A two-door Sport version is fitted with a higher-output V-6 that boasts 295 horses. A five-speed automatic gearbox is standard, with a six-speed manual transmission also available. The G35x adds all-wheel-drive for added grip on slick surfaces while still maintaining a sporty demeanor - its torque split favors the rear wheels unless extra traction is needed - and is available only with the five-speed automatic. Front side and head curtain airbags, traction control, and Vehicle Dynamic Control are standard. For 2006, the sedan adds an available Bluetooth hands-free phone. The coupe, meanwhile, is freshened with revised taillamps and an aluminum trim ring added to the door panel speakers. A Sport-Tuned Suspension Package adds a unique front fascia and side sills and new optional rear spoiler, while a new Premium Package adds Intelligent Key, a Bluetooth hands-free phone, and driver's seat and steering wheel memory plus automatic entry/exit assist. Rear Active Steer, vehicle-speed-sensitive power steering, and a 15.1:1 steering gear ratio are newly available on the coupe. Both versions add standard xenon headlamps and a new exterior color, Liquid Platinum.

All-wheel drive muscles the G35x up to world-class status.
