Hyundai's smallest and least-expensive vehicle remains one of the lowest-priced cars in America . As such the Accent competes more closely in the broader marketplace with used cars than with the scant few new models in the "entry level" price range (others would be the Kia Rio and the Chevrolet Aveo). It comes in spartanly equipped hatchback and sedan versions, powered by a 103-horsepower 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine and a five-speed manual transmission. GL models offer an optional four-speed automatic transmission and include standard air conditioning. Meanwhile, the GT hatchback comes with a sport-tuned suspension for mildly sharper handling, along with fog lamps, a leather wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, rear spoiler, and alloy wheels. The Accent continues for 2005 with only few changes.
