Ridgeline

Introduced last spring as a 2006 model, Honda's first pickup is based on a unibody structure for true car-like ride and handling abilities, yet it's still able to tow up to 5000 pounds thanks to the addition of frame-like crossbeams to the undercarriage. The five-passenger Ridgeline comes with four doors and a five-foot cargo bed. It comes powered by a 247-horsepower V-6 engine and a five-speed automatic transmission. The standard Variable Torque Management four-wheel drive system can actually anticipate changing road conditions and react accordingly. Standard security-minded features include Vehicle Stability Assist with Traction Control, and front-side and head-curtain airbags. Innovative features include a split-fold-and-tumble rear seat with hidden under-seat storage, a two-way tailgate that can open either from the top or the right side, and a unique lockable and weather-protected trunk that's integrated into the cargo bed.

A revolutionary truck move for a standalone carmaker.
