Honda's eight-passenger crossover received a major update in 2006, so changes for 2007 are limited to the addition of Variable Cylinder Management (VCM) on two-wheel-drive models and four new exterior colors (Nimbus Gray Metallic, Dark Cherry Pearl, Aberdeen Green Metallic and Formal Black). Otherwise, the Pilot carries over into 2007. The standard engine in the Pilot is a 244-horsepower version of Honda's 3.5-liter V-6 engine that includes an electronic throttle control system. The Pilot's available VTM-4 (Variable Torque Management-4WD) all-wheel-drive system sends power to the rear wheels automatically when needed; when conditions become seriously slippery, the driver can engage and lock 50 percent of power to the rear wheels. Base LX and premium EX trim levels are available. Three-row side curtain airbags, front-seat side-impact airbags, stability control and traction control are standard equipment. Base LX models also include third-row seating, remote keyless entry, power windows, dual power mirrors, adjustable steering column, front and rear air conditioning with cabin filtration system, an AM/FM stereo with single-disc CD player, cruise control, multi-function center console with cell phone cradle, painted alloy wheels, body colored side molding and Immobilizer Theft-Deterrent System. Available premium features include DVD-based navigation with voice recognition and 7-inch display screen, and a rear-seat DVD entertainment system with a 9-inch screen. A rear-view camera is standard on vehicles with the navigation system.
