GMC’s full-size, rear-drive van continues for 2007 as the workhorse of the fleet, able to serve as either a commercial hauler, 15-passenger mini-bus, or a powerful tow vehicle. Changes for 2007 include a standard Vortec 5.3-liter, 295-horsepower V-8 engine on 1500 passenger van models, with E85/flex-fuel capability available. The 4.3-liter, 195-horsepower V-6 continues as the base engine, with a 6.0-liter, 300-horsepower V-8 topping the range. A 250-horsepower 6.6-liter turbo-diesel V-8 is also available on G2500 and G3500 cargo versions. All Savanas come standard with four-speed automatic transmissions and are available in either short- or long-wheelbase editions and offers a variety of load capacities and engines. The base 1500 model can be equipped with all-wheel drive for added traction on slick or snowy roads, while the 3500 long-wheelbase version includes stability control.
