Ford's full-size pickup continues to provide a full range of cab configurations, powertrains, payloads, and equipment levels to satisfy virtually any buyer's needs. Standard and available engines include a 4.2-liter V-6, a 231-horsepower 4.6-liter V-8, and a 300-horsepower 5.4-liter V-8. A four-speed automatic transmission is standard, with a five-speed manual transmission available. The base V-6 will pull a 2200-pound trailer, while the top V-8 can haul 9900 pounds. Regular-cab and SuperCab models include side access doors to reach the storage space behind the seats, while SuperCrew versions offer two rows of seating and four forward-swinging full-size doors. A new Harley-Davidson edition debuts for 2006 that's fitted with the 5.4-liter V-8 and is draped in a monochrome black exterior with chrome accents and hot-roddish blue-outlined red scalloped side stripes. Riding on a sport-handling suspension and 22-inch wheels and tires, the limited-edition pickup offers an optional all-wheel drive system for added road holding abilities on wet or dry pavement. Other 2006 updates include Traction Assist available on rear-drive V-8 models, newly offered 20-inch wheels and five-inch chrome tubular running boards, and a new color option on Lariat versions, Smokestone Clearcoat Metallic. Later in the model year, a SuperCrew version will become available with a 6.5-foot cargo box, and a flexible-fuel 5.4-liter V-8 engine will be offered along with a new luxury package on the FX4. Sirius satellite radio is newly offered for 2006.

Feels expensive, and it's not cheap.
