Ford’s full-size rear-drive sedan continues for at least one more year in its present form. Changes for ’07 to the six-passenger Vic are limited to a reduction of available trims (just base and LX versions are offered). In addition, a new AM/FM audio system with CD player and remote keyless entry/SmartLock system is now standard on all models, along with a newly available perimeter alarm system and new color choices — Norsea Blue Pearl Clearcoat Metallic and Driftwood Beige Clearcoat Metallic. A 224-horsepower, 4.6-liter V-8 engine remains under the hood and is fitted to a four-speed-automatic transmission. Inside, there’s ample room for six adult passengers, and more than enough trunk space for their luggage. An available handling package boosts engine power to 239 horses by virtue of a dual exhaust system. The Vic offers 106.4 cubic feet of passenger volume and a 20.6 cubic foot trunk. Front-seat side-impact airbags are available optionally, along with traction control with electronic brake force distribution, a moonroof, six-disc CD changer, leather seating surfaces, heated side mirrors, laminated side glass, power adjustable pedals full-size spare tire, and a trunk organizer.
