The F430 replaced the F360 in late 2005 and the current model is slated for an update in 2008. Changes for 2007 to Ferrari's two-seat exotic sports car are minimal. As before, the F430 is available in both coupe and Spyder body styles. All versions are powered by a 4.3-liter V-8 developing 383 horsepower. Standard versions come equipped with a six-speed manual transmission while F1 variants use a race-style "clutchless" manual transmission which uses computer controls to engage and disengage the clutch; the driver has full manual control of upshifts and downshifts, which are actuated by paddle shifters on the steering wheel. There is also an electronically controlled "E-diff" rear differential, which manages torque output under full throttle for enhanced control. Challenge models are track-oriented and come with carbon-ceramic brakes, Challenge Stradale lightweight rims and carbon fiber interior trim. All models get dual-zone climate control, anti-lock brakes, traction and stability control.
