The muscular Viper SRT-10 two-seat roadster gets a new fixed-roof coupe companion for 2006. Recast with a sloping "double bubble" shaped roofline, the coupe shares only its front fascia and signature crosshairs grille, scooped front fenders, hood, and doors with the convertible. Unique rear-end styling features wrap-around tail lamps, along with a special windshield surround, door side glass, rear fascia, and quarter panels. Both versions come explosively powered by a 8.3-liter V-10 engine that generates 500-horsepower and 525 lb-ft of torque, which are channeled to the rear wheels via a six-speed-manual transmission. Zero-to-60 times clock in at less than four seconds. A race-ready suspension along with four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes and an anti-slip differential affords tenacious control to the extremes, but the Viper is still not a car that's intended for the faint of heart.
