The compact front-wheel-drive Sebring coupe shares its architecture with the Mitsubishi Eclipse and the two-door version of the Dodge Stratus, while the sedan and convertible models are related to the four-door Stratus, which rides on a separate platform. The ride tends to be softer than many vehicles in this class, and the back seat can actually accommodate adult riders in relative comfort. While the standard 142-horsepower 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine provides adequate acceleration, choose one of the available 200-horsepower V-6 engines (2.7 liters in the sedan and 3.0 liters in the coupe) for brisker 0-60 times. Coupes are fitted with a standard five-speed manual gearbox, with a four-speed Autostick automatic transmission optional, while sedans and convertibles are available only with the automatic. Only relatively minor changes are evident for 2005.
