Tahoe

The smaller sibling to the Chevy Suburban offers similar improvements for 2005. These include the newest version of GM's OnStar system in all equipment groups and a rear liftgate with lift-up rear glass now fitted across the line. The full-size SUV's side-sill assist steps have been redesigned for improved aerodynamics and durability, a more powerful standard alternator is included and new standard and optional rear axle ratios are offered for both 2WD and 4WD models. The Z71 off-road performance package can now be purchase with rear-drive models, a newly optional stereo system includes a touch-screen navigation system and 17-inch, five-spoke aluminum wheels are now a part of the LT trim package. A 275-horsepower 4.8-liter comes standard, while a larger 290-hp, 5.3-liter V-8 that provides much-greater low-end torque is optional. The standard four-speed automatic gearbox comes with a "tow/haul" function. Four-wheel-drive models get GM's Autotrac system that can be permanently left in full-time 4WD mode. StabiliTrak yaw control is optional for added stability over a wide range of conditions.
