The 2008 Cadillac SRX has an ample selection of standard features, along with some clever and luxurious options.

Standard features include power windows, locks, and mirrors; cruise control; air conditioning; and an AM/FM/CD player. Major options include the third-row seat, leather trim, and all-wheel drive with either engine/transmission combination.

Among the standout features, Cadillac's "Adaptive Remote Start system" allows starting and climate adjustment "from up to 200 feet away," according to Cars.com reviewers. An "SRX Sport package" comes "with 4-inch dual polished exhaust tips, a six-speed automatic with Drive Control shift, all-wheel drive and a limited-slip differential."

The SRX V-8 gets a standard navigation system, while it's optional with the V-6. OnStar-equipped models also get turn-by-turn navigation assistance.

Other Choices:

The Mercedes-Benz M-Class doesn't offer a third-row seat, but it is spacious and will be offered with a six-cylinder diesel engine for the coming model year. The Land Rover Range Rover Sport shares the Cadillac SRX's love for straight lines, but comes off as a more upscale knockoff of its Range Rover brother. The Volkswagen Touareg is a five-seater as well, and it has a conservative look. The Infiniti FX seats five and is relatively outrageous by the standards of the crossover class, while the Lexus RX 350 is a traditional luxury crossover with an enviable reputation for quality.
