Escalade

Cadillac's big and bold line of full-size luxury SUVs consists of the Chevrolet Tahoe-based standard version, a longer Suburban-derived ESV and the EXT, which is a novel SUV/pickup truck combination that shares platforms and components with the Avalanche. Each offers comparable performance to its Chevy counterparts in all forms, but with added ride softness, amenities and attitude. For 2005, Escalade receives a revised instrument cluster and navigation-system upgrades across the line, and the ESV adds a new cooling system and the latest generation of OnStar. In its base rear-wheel-drive form, the Escalade holds a 295-horsepower, 5.3-liter V-8, while a 345-horsepower 6.0-liter V-8 is included with all-wheel-drive models, including the ESV and EXT. A long list of standard performance and convenience features includes front side airbags, the Stabilitrak stability control system, automatic tri-zone air conditioning, a Bose audio system, rear park assist, and the OnStar communications system. A DVD entertainment system and satellite navigation are optional.
