Cadillac decided to take a breather on the midsize CTS...

Cadillac’s mid-size, rear-drive sport sedan offers three engine choices: a standard 2.8-liter V-6 with 210 horsepower, a mid-range 3.6-liter V-6 with 255 horsepower and in the high-performance CTS-V, a 6.0-liter V-8 with 400 horsepower. The two V-6 engines may be teamed with either six-speed manual or five-speed automatic transmissions, while the CTS-V comes only with a heavy-duty Tremec six-speed manual transmission. The CTS-V also gets a specific sport-tuned suspension, high-capacity brakes, and exterior and interior trim upgrades. XM NavTraffic, which provides continuously updated traffic information, is now standard in cars equipped with the optional DVD navigation system. The angular styling of the CTS remains its signature calling card and the car delivers high-performance handling and braking capacity with reasonable ride quality and plenty of attitude. A new model is expected for 2008.
