Buick's version of the Chevrolet TrailBlazer and GMC Envoy was introduced for 2004 and remains the handsomest and most luxurious of its corporate cousins, with the most standard features. Newly available on all models for 2005 is the 290-horsepower 5.3-liter V-8 engine that was previously only available on short-wheelbase models. The standard engine is a 4.2-liter in-line six that generates 275 horses, and both engines can drive either the rear or all four wheels via a four-speed-automatic transmission. Buick's "QuietTuning" system is said to help reduce interior noise and vibrations. New for 2005 are wood-trimmed steering wheel rim, additional interior chrome accents, side-curtain air bags and an occupant-sensing system for the right-front passenger. As with Buick's upscale sedans, a host of systems, such as the power seats and mirrors, radio, door locks, lighting, and climate-control, can be personalized to suit multiple drivers' tastes.
