For 2007, Buick’s top-of-the-line full-size sedan gets a new heated and leather-wrapped steering wheel, updated navigation system with touch-screen display, the latest version of GM’s OnStar communication system with “turn by turn” navigation assistance, a new chrome grille option for CXL and CXS trims and two new exterior colors — Light Quartz Metallic and Gold Mist Metallic. In its base CX form, the front-drive Lucerne comes with a 197-horsepower 3.8-liter V-6 engine; a 275 horsepower 4.6 liter V-8 is available on the CXL and standard on the top-of-the-line CXS. A four-speed automatic transmission is used with both engines. The Lucerne’s exterior sports Buick’s trademark chrome “ventiports” at the rear of the front fenders; V-6 models show three on a side — while V-8 powered versions are distinguished by four. The car’s interior is tastefully trimmed, with comfortable seats, large controls and and rich-looking materials. Six airbags come standard, including a dual-depth front-passenger airbag. Four-wheel disc anti-lock brakes and all-speed traction control are also included across the line; the CXS adds StabiliTrak stability control, Magnetic Ride Control, and brake assist. Standard features include rain-sensing windshield wipers, dual-zone air conditioning, and leather/wood trim. On the options list are heated windshield washers, heated and cooled leather seats, a rear parking assist warning system, and a remote starting function.
