2005 BMW M3 Review

M3

For those enthusiasts and weekend racers who don't mind trading off any semblance of comfort for flat-out performance, BMW continues to offer high-performance M editions of the compact 3-Series coupe and convertible with few changes slated for 2005. Coming powered by a rev-happy 333-horsepower 3.2-liter in-line six-cylinder engine, either a standard six-speed-manual transmission or an optional six-speed Sequential Manual Gearbox is available to spin the rear wheels. A grippy though rough-riding sport suspension with unique 18-inch wheels and high-performance tires keeps the car planted firmly around the corners; even larger 19-inch rims and rubber are optional. Distinguishing styling characteristics include a unique aluminum hood, and wider body sides, wheel flares and side sills. Inside, there's a three-spoke "M" steering wheel, special gauges and highly bolstered sport seats that are not particularly friendly to full-framed motorists. An optional Premium Package includes leather upholstery, a power moonroof, and power front seats with driver's-side memory functions.
