BMW's flagship 7-Series sedans receive a number of upgrades for 2006, including revised styling. Up front there's a larger version of BMW's trademark kidney-shaped grilles, a revised bumper and lower spoiler, new headlamps and fog lights, and a subtly redesigned hood. The car's rear-end styling has been considerably smoothed out, with the back bumper tucking in at the wheel wells; this helps emphasize the car's slightly wider (by 0.06 inches) rear track. The 7-Series' trunklid has been slightly lowered and smoothed, and its taillights have been recast. On the inside, climate-control knobs have been revised to give a more tactile feel, and a new "titanium galvanic material" is used throughout the cabin as styling accents. Plus, the iDrive system that controls the climate control, navigation, and audio functions receives modifications to make it more user-friendly. A hands-free Bluetooth wireless interface for similarly enabled cellular phones is now included. While a phone will remain standard, buyers can now choose one from a list of BMW-approved models. Under the hood, the 750i and 750Li get a boost in power, with their 4.8-liter V-8 engine now generating an added 30 horsepower and 35 lb-ft of torque, for a total 360 horsepower and 360 lb-ft of torque. The 760i and 760Li's 6.0-liter V-12 engine stays status quo, with a six-speed automatic gearbox with manual-shift capability remaining the only available transmission.

Stronger, more refined, and restyled. But is it de-Bangled?
