2006 Audi RS 4 Review

RS4

This new top-performing version of the A4 family packs a punch with a 4.2-liter direct-injection V-8 engine that generates an explosive 414 horsepower. That means 0-60 mph times will clock in at a reported 4.8 seconds. The car features more extensive use of aluminum construction than the rest of the line as a weight-saving measure, particularly in the suspension and hood. Also on hand to lessen the load are lightweight sports seats with inflatable side bolsters. The RS4 rides on a tauter suspension with a lower stance and wider track than the rest of the line. 18-inch wheels and performance tires are fitted at the front, with 19-inch rims and rubber installed at the rear. A sportier version of Audi's quattro all-wheel-drive system comes standard, and affords crisper cornering abilities by managing front/rear torque more liberally. Dynamic Ride Control is included for maximum stability and grip around the corners. Four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, and front-side and side-curtain airbags come standard.
