Acura's sporty rendition of the European-spec Honda Accord receives a number of enhancements for 2006. Outside it gets redesigned front and rear fascias, new sidesills, redesigned alloy wheels, and standard integrated fog lamps, while flat wiper blades increase visibility and reduce wind noise. Interior updates include a revised steering wheel, gauges, and multi-info display, an upgraded optional navigation system, a HandsFreeLink wireless telephone interface, and a digital media auxiliary jack located in the center console for iPod and other MP3 players. A sporty A-SPEC package was introduced last year that includes high-performance shocks and springs, lightweight 17-inch alloy wheels with upgraded tires, and an aero kit. The TSX's high-revving 2.4-liter in-line four powerplant is generates 205 horsepower, and can be mated to either a standard close-ratio six-speed manual or five-speed Sequential SportShift automatic transmission. Its crisp handling and overall road manners benefit from the car's four-wheel independent suspension, anti-lock disc brakes, 17-inch wheels and tires, and standard Vehicle Stability Assist and traction control systems. Side-curtain airbags are included as are a full complement of comfort and convenience features, including a power moonroof, xenon headlamps, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and leather upholstery. A voice-activated navigation system is optional. New exterior colors for 2006 include Alabaster Silver Metallic, Glacier Blue Metallic, Deep Green Pearl, and Royal Blue Pearl.
