2014 Toyota Land Cruiser vs. Its Competition

The 2014 Land Cruiser is capable of venturing deep into the woods and over rocks in a way that few others can.

However, there are a few, and Land Cruiser's base price places it squarely in the luxury SUV market.

As an upmarket, yet only marginally more expensive alternative inside the Toyota brand, the Lexus LX is a mechanical near-twin to the Land Cruiser.

The Land Rover Range Rover can't carry as many passengers, but it comes with worldwide recognition for prestige and off-road prowess.

The Mercedes-Benz GL its a suburban solution with a great diesel option, and Benz's G-Class offers legitimate off-pavement capabilities with extra exclusivity.

There's also the Toyota Sequoia–less expensive and more practical–which can't climb over rocks quite as easily, but it can haul the family around town and tow a boat with the best of them.
