The 2014 Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet has a new, lower base price of $41,995, but that's still closer to the level of a BMW 3-Series convertible than its more likely competitors.

One of those is the Chrysler 200 convertible, another four-seat droptop, though it doesn't offer all-wheel drive as standard or even as an option.

The Volkswagen Eos may also be in the running, but, really, there's no direct competition for the CrossCabrio--a crossover with a soft top.

It's one of a kind.

The closest vehicle among AWD entries is the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, which comes in hard-top or soft-top versions.

Loaded with options, it starts to reach CrossCabrio territory, and gives you much better off-road capability at the expense of a rougher and noisier ride.
