How does the
TCC Rating work?
The TCC Rating is a clear numeric rating value based on a 10-point scale that reflects the overall opinion of our automotive experts on any vehicle and rolls up ratings we give each vehicle across sub-categories you care about like performance, safety, styling and more.

Our rating also has simple color-coded “Stop” (red), “Caution” (orange),
or “Go” (green) messages along with the numerical score so you can easily understand where we stand at a glance.

Our automotive experts then also collect and show you what other websites say about these different aspects of any vehicle. We do this leg work for you to simplify your research process.

It's more prestigious than its competitors, but some other full-size SUVs offer three rows of seats and some exceptionally powerful engines to go with their sky-high pricetags.

The GL competes with the Cadillac Escalade, of course, and the Escalade is the best-selling ute in the segment.

In part it's due to its celebrity status--but it also comes in a variety of body styles, including a pickup version with a fold-down midgate.

The Lincoln Navigator was to the 1990s what the Escalade was to the 2000s; it's fallen out of favor, though it's still glitzed up and to its credit, much less expensive than the Caddy.

So's the Infiniti QX, which no longer shares a platform with the Nissan Armada.

Now built in Japan, it's smoother and quieter, and a better vehicle overall than before.

Finally, there's the Lexus LX, a lightly appliqued version of the Toyota Land Cruiser.

It's immense, with packaging that's not really that good for such a large vehicle, but its off-road ability may be the best of this group.

Especially if towing capability matters, the 2013 Cadillac Escalade is one of the most luxurious--and most fashionable--luxury SUVs you can get.

If a need still exists for full-size luxury SUVs, it'll be fulfilled by civilized utes like the Infiniti QX56.

A luxurious SUV with limited appeal, the Lexus LX 570 isn't quite at home on the range, or on the interstate.

The 2013 Lincoln Navigator feels uniquely American in a way that's unmatched by most other big SUVs; but it's behind the times in many respects.
