The luxury four-door coupe market didn't exist not so many years ago, but it's booming now.

There are many great vehicles in this new class, including the luxurious and powerful Maserati Quattroporte.

BMW's 6-Series Gran Coupe offers similar power and performance (if you include the M6 Gran Coupe), with its own take on dramatic exterior styling and creature comforts in the cabin.

Mercedes-Benz's CLS Class (and CLS63 AMG) is perhaps the most familiar of the four-door coupes, and for good reason: it's a very good car, with comfort, power, and luxury in spades.

Porsche's Panamera is perhaps the sportiest of the this group, and it's also the most efficient for 2014, with a new plug-in S E-Hybrid model on offer.

The Audi A7 has S7 and RS 7 spice to add to this mix, and prices nearly overlap the base Maser.
