The 2013 Lincoln Navigator impresses as a bit more traditional and conservative compared to the large Lexus and Infiniti SUVs, yet not nearly as chromed-up and assertive as the Cadillac Escalade.
The Infiniti QX56 feels the most extravagant of this bunch from behind the wheel, with its punchy engine and brassy exhaust note, while the Lexus is more subdued in just about every way.
The Mercedes-Benz GL-Class has been recently refreshed and has an interior that makes the Navigator's cabin look about a decade old.
The Land Rover Range Rover is the best pick if you need serious off-road ability, and its cabin appointments also feel more special.
