How does the
TCC Rating work?
The TCC Rating is a clear numeric rating value based on a 10-point scale that reflects the overall opinion of our automotive experts on any vehicle and rolls up ratings we give each vehicle across sub-categories you care about like performance, safety, styling and more.

Our rating also has simple color-coded “Stop” (red), “Caution” (orange),
or “Go” (green) messages along with the numerical score so you can easily understand where we stand at a glance.

Our automotive experts then also collect and show you what other websites say about these different aspects of any vehicle. We do this leg work for you to simplify your research process.

What’s this? X
Our expert editors build comparisons like this one to make it easy for you to understand the small handful of cars you should compare to whatever car you are already looking at. You get general thoughts on each car you should consider plus an easy way to compare basic information for yourself.

The Lincoln Navigator is a tech-laden large SUV with more aggressive styling than the Lexus or Infiniti offerings.

Mercedes' GL-Class is a tough vehicle to beat, though, if you have the scratch to spend.

The Land Rover Range Rover isn't as large as the Navigator, but it has serious off-road ability and drives better on-road, too.

Cadillac's Escalade is the Navigator's most direct competition, and GM's offering is a bit ahead of the big Lincoln in terms of engine power and interior appointments.

The Navigator still comes out ahead on the whole against the Caddy, however, with better handling, a more functional third-row seat, and lower price.

The 2011 Lincoln Navigator is large and lavish, in a uniquely American way, though its powertrains are a step behind those of rival truck-based SUVs.

The trip back home’s done the Infiniti QX56 a world of good; savor the V-8 and the cabin essence, and buy it in black to subdue that wide, tall front end.

The 2011 Land Rover Range Rover is a bit pricey, but it delivers a lot of value, too.

The 2011 Lexus LX 570 is no Range Rover or Escalade, and it isn't a serious trail crawler either; what's left is a luxurious and well equipped SUV, but one with limited appeal.

A nimble ride and elegant, tough styling help the 2011 Mercedes-Benz GL-Class charm the mud right off a Range Rover.
