How does the
TCC Rating work?
The TCC Rating is a clear numeric rating value based on a 10-point scale that reflects the overall opinion of our automotive experts on any vehicle and rolls up ratings we give each vehicle across sub-categories you care about like performance, safety, styling and more.

Our rating also has simple color-coded “Stop” (red), “Caution” (orange),
or “Go” (green) messages along with the numerical score so you can easily understand where we stand at a glance.

Our automotive experts then also collect and show you what other websites say about these different aspects of any vehicle. We do this leg work for you to simplify your research process.

With credit for essentially starting the mid-size luxury crossover segment in the late 1990s, the Lexus RX has been a huge success for the brand.

Its current competition includes the Lincoln MKX, which offers good interior room, a strong V-6 engine and MyLincoln Touch, a high-tech (albeit occasionally buggy) infotainment system.

The Cadillac SRX looks great inside and out, and its 3.6-liter V-6 makes it a very similar package to the RX.

We like the Volvo XC60's Scandinavian design, offerings elegant style in a slightly more compact package.

On the more affordable side, the Nissan Murano is a solid choice; its V-6 offers good performance, though it's a little smaller inside than the RX, and the continuously variable transmission (CVT) will win some shoppers, but lose others.
