The Range Rover Evoque redefines the coupe-crossover niche, but it's not the only vehicle in the mix.

BMW's X6 is considerably larger, and considerably less attractive to most eyes--and it's not noticeably better to drive than the X5, yet gives up quite a bit of utility for the coupe-like form.

Infiniti's FX range is similarly odd in appearance, though it is certainly unique, if slightly cartoonish.

The FX is also far more potent a driver's car in V-8 form, but doesn't quite rise to the Evoque's finish and fitment levels.

Audi's Q5 is perhaps the most logical choice of the competitive set, though it's also a bit bloodless and flat-footed.

Volvo's XC60 is, like the brand, more safety conscious, and BMW's X3 is fun and punchy in its own right, with a more 3-Series-like experience behind the wheel.
