The 2013 Kia Soul faces a limited number of alternatives, with the Nissan Cube and Scion xB being the chief ones.
Those seeking a wild one will want to go for the Nissan Cube, with its french curves, shag carpeting, and rippled-water details--plus the refrigerator-like exterior.
The Cube isn't quick, and functionally it's a step down with its side-swinging tailgate and less efficient use of space.
The Scion xB is quite good looking, if not a little too chunky, but it's surprisingly lacking on space and versatility, considering its exterior size.
Another offbeat alternative is the Hyundai Veloster, a three-door hatchback (one driver-side door and two passenger-side doors), a sports-coupe-like exterior, and excellent connectivity features.
