How does the
TCC Rating work?
The TCC Rating is a clear numeric rating value based on a 10-point scale that reflects the overall opinion of our automotive experts on any vehicle and rolls up ratings we give each vehicle across sub-categories you care about like performance, safety, styling and more.

Our rating also has simple color-coded “Stop” (red), “Caution” (orange),
or “Go” (green) messages along with the numerical score so you can easily understand where we stand at a glance.

Our automotive experts then also collect and show you what other websites say about these different aspects of any vehicle. We do this leg work for you to simplify your research process.

Our expert editors build comparisons like this one to make it easy for you to understand the small handful of cars you should compare to whatever car you are already looking at. You get general thoughts on each car you should consider plus an easy way to compare basic information for yourself.

Several popular, hip-styled wagons and one just arriving in showrooms.

While the Chrysler PT Cruiser has been discontinued for 2011, the comparable (and also American) Chevrolet HHR continues on, offering four-cylinder engines and formerly nifty retro styling—that has simply not aged well.

The Scion xB is the newer version of the compact wagon that launched Toyota's youth brand; the current version has sold more slowly, as it's grown larger and heavier and lost its Japanese flair.

Some might find the smaller Scion xA to be nearly as spacious inside yet more fuel-efficient.

The Nissan Cube is the other newbie in the group; with a smaller overall size, a less functional interior, and an unusual tailgate shape, its appeal lies mostly in its softer, feminine style.

Yet another new alternative is the Hyundai Veloster, part sport coupe and part stylish crossover hatchback, with 40-mpg highway fuel economy.
