How does the
TCC Rating work?
The TCC Rating is a clear numeric rating value based on a 10-point scale that reflects the overall opinion of our automotive experts on any vehicle and rolls up ratings we give each vehicle across sub-categories you care about like performance, safety, styling and more.

Our rating also has simple color-coded “Stop” (red), “Caution” (orange),
or “Go” (green) messages along with the numerical score so you can easily understand where we stand at a glance.

Our automotive experts then also collect and show you what other websites say about these different aspects of any vehicle. We do this leg work for you to simplify your research process.

Since its most recent redesign, the Jaguar XJ has been an interesting outlier in the world of big luxury sedans. And now that it offers a large range of engines and optional all-wheel drive, it's an especially strong competitor if you want a break from the other executive-class offerings.

The Audi A7 and its stunning, swift S7 companion piece are the sexiest rivals from Germany; or you could include the more traditional-looking A8, in short- and long-wheelbase form, and its mega-power S8 sibling.

The new BMW 6-Series Gran Turismo takes the four-door coupe idea to a bulkier conclusion, and to our eyes, it's the least sultry-looking of that subset.

BMW's standby 7-Series continues as a gathering place for all of the brand's top tech.

The Mercedes-Benz S-Class was redone for 2014, but it doesn't break with tradition and continues to up the technology ante, as it's done for decades.

An outlier and relative bargain is the Infiniti Q70 (formerly the Q56); it's a breakout performer but less refined than the others, and it adds a long-wheelbase option for 2015.
