2014 Chrysler Town & Country vs. Its Competition

2014 Chrysler Town & Country
Marty Padgett Marty Padgett Editorial Director

Minivans are family wagons first, cargo haulers second, but the best of them perform both duties at the flip of a seat.

The Chrysler Town & Country has one of the most flexible interiors, and its safety and infotainment features are among the best in the segment.

The same things are true of the Dodge Grand Caravan, its lower-priced near-twin.

Both the Honda Odyssey and Toyota Sienna have great crash-test scores and big-screen DVD entertainment systems, but they're pricey, and neither has a fold-away second-row seat.

The Nissan Quest can't hold as much cargo since its seat don't fold away into the floor, but it handles better than the Chrysler; safety scores are disappointing, though, as is the case with the returned Kia Sedona.

Quick Specs
8.4
The Chrysler Town & Country is a more expensive, more plush Caravan--and a great choice for shoppers looking for the best flexibility and features in minivans.
8.2
With the best flexibility and infotainment in the minivan world, the 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan also satisfies families with great safety scores and good gas mileage.
8.0
With the 2014 Odyssey, Honda continues to innovate and offer up the most space-efficient interior for families, while driving better than most crossovers and SUVs.
6.8
The 2014 Kia Sedona is a spacious, comfortable family van, but it lacks the modern design flair and high-value presentation that marks the rest of the brand's lineup.
7.2
The Nissan Quest may drive well, but its below-average seating and safety put it behind the rest of the minivan options on the road today.
8.0
The Toyota Sienna only comes up shy in fold-away second-row seats and gas mileage; otherwise it's a leader in power and durability.
