Porsche's Cayenne matches the X5 for impressive handling, but only seats five passengers, and offers even less exterior attractiveness.

The Mercedes-Benz GL Class matches the X5's seating and off-road capability, while offering a fresher look--though not quite as skilful on-road handling and performance.

The Lexus GX 460 is a tick smaller than the X5, but offers even more features.

Cadillac's Escalade is the bling leader, and offers a hybrid option.

The Land Rover Range Rover is all-new for 2013, and offers lighter weight, excellent off-road ability, and a typically world-class Land Rover interior--but its price reflects these factors.
