There isn't all that much the X2's size and price available in the U.S.--yet.
Its closest rival is probably the Range Rover Evoque, a model that's far more expensive and definitely aims further off paved roads; the Evoque is a little more overtly stylish, too, as opposed to the X1's familial style.
The Evoque is also offered in three-door and five-door body styles.
The MINI Countryman is a corporate cousin, built on an unrelated platform; but isn't much bigger than the X1.
Still it yields a little more interior space, though its styling is more gimmicky.
For something in the same pricing range but with far more luxury content, you might look at a mass-market vehicle like the Ford Escape.
It's in the same performance and size niche, has excellent handling--and for the X1's price, can be fitted with features like active park assist, MyFord Touch voice controls, leather seating, and a hands-free power tailgate.
