How does the
TCC Rating work?
The TCC Rating is a clear numeric rating value based on a 10-point scale that reflects the overall opinion of our automotive experts on any vehicle and rolls up ratings we give each vehicle across sub-categories you care about like performance, safety, styling and more.

Our rating also has simple color-coded “Stop” (red), “Caution” (orange),
or “Go” (green) messages along with the numerical score so you can easily understand where we stand at a glance.

Our automotive experts then also collect and show you what other websites say about these different aspects of any vehicle. We do this leg work for you to simplify your research process.

Most shoppers will appreciate how, with the 2015 BMW 4-Series, you get what's essentially the best of the 3-Series sedans, but packaged into a lower, sportier two-door body style.

But there are definitely alternatives if you want to go fast and stylish without breaking your budget.

Mercedes-Benz actually has a couple of potential rivals.

Its C Class Coupe is the obvious alternate, offering its own turbo four-cylinder and six-cylinder options, as well as a potent C63 AMG version.

The Merrcedes-Benz CLA45 AMG is the odd pick, and the one that might make sense for a performance buyer.

It's priced just above the 4-Series, but with has far more power, standard all-wheel drive, and a four-door coupe profile.

Between the Mercedes and the BMW, it mostly comes down to personal style and preference--they're both capable vehicles.

We still think the Audi A5 is the prettiest of the bunch, especially in sporty S5 trim, but in all fairness it's been on the market for many years now and could appear quite conservative, to some eyes, on the outside.

It is, after all, a model that so much of the industry has worked to emulate.

Infiniti's Q60 (formerly known as the G37 Coupe) is a more affordable, more powerful option, though it still lacks some of the refinement exhibited in the Germans.

The 2015 BMW 4-Series Coupe and Convertible build on the bones of the 3-Series sport sedan, with comparable performance but a little more flesh and flair.

The Audi A5 coupe and convertible are sleek and supple, but make the most sense in their S and RS guises.

Forget this model's recent past; the 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class takes a half-step up in size and a full step ahead of its peer set in sophistication -- and it's now one very charming luxury car.

The 2015 CLA is a small Mercedes done right, with enough of the brand's style and refinement mixed with a dash of youthfulness.
