How does the
TCC Rating work?
The TCC Rating is a clear numeric rating value based on a 10-point scale that reflects the overall opinion of our automotive experts on any vehicle and rolls up ratings we give each vehicle across sub-categories you care about like performance, safety, styling and more.

Our rating also has simple color-coded “Stop” (red), “Caution” (orange),
or “Go” (green) messages along with the numerical score so you can easily understand where we stand at a glance.

Our automotive experts then also collect and show you what other websites say about these different aspects of any vehicle. We do this leg work for you to simplify your research process.

Our expert editors build comparisons like this one to make it easy for you to understand the small handful of cars you should compare to whatever car you are already looking at. You get general thoughts on each car you should consider plus an easy way to compare basic information for yourself.

The 2014 BMW 4-Series packages the best of the 3-Series' features into a lower, sportier two-door body, but there are alternatives if you're after a luxurious, fast, stylish car that doesn't break the bank.

Mercedes-Benz's C Class Coupe is the obvious alternate, offering its own turbo four-cylinder and six-cylinder options, as well as a potent C63 AMG version.

Between the Mercedes and the BMW, it mostly comes down to personal style and preference--they're both capable vehicles.

Audi's A5 is the prettiest of the bunch, especially in sporty S5 trim, but it's been on the market for several years now, losing some of its fresh factor.

Infiniti's Q60 (formerly known as the G37 Coupe) is a more affordable, more powerful option, though it lacks some of the refinement exhibited in the Germans.

An odd pick, but one that might make sense for a performance buyer, is the new 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG.

Priced just above the 4-Series, but with far more power, standard all-wheel drive, and a four-door coupe profile, it ticks most of the same boxes, plus a few extra.
