How does the
TCC Rating work?
The TCC Rating is a clear numeric rating value based on a 10-point scale that reflects the overall opinion of our automotive experts on any vehicle and rolls up ratings we give each vehicle across sub-categories you care about like performance, safety, styling and more.

Our rating also has simple color-coded “Stop” (red), “Caution” (orange),
or “Go” (green) messages along with the numerical score so you can easily understand where we stand at a glance.

Our automotive experts then also collect and show you what other websites say about these different aspects of any vehicle. We do this leg work for you to simplify your research process.

If you want a luxurious yet still affordable convertible, the Lexus IS C offers as much or more style than the BMW alternative, but without the driver-focused dynamics.

There is no coupe version of the Lexus IS, either.

Porsche's Boxster and Cayman truly occupy the next tier up both in terms of luxury and performance, but they do offer a reasonable, if premium, alternative to the 1-Series.

Audi's A3 is perhaps the most direct competitor the 1-Series faces here in the United States, but again, its five-door hatchback form factor places it in a slightly different class.

In terms of fit, finish, price, and handling, however, the Audi is a very close rival to the BMW 1-Series.

Infiniti's G37 Coupe hits a bit of a different note, with more performance and slightly less luxurious accommodations, but it's worth considering if you're seeking a fast, stylish, and comfortable two-door.
