Our expert editors build comparisons like this one to make it easy for you to understand the small handful of cars you should compare to whatever car you are already looking at. You get general thoughts on each car you should consider plus an easy way to compare basic information for yourself.

The only real competitor to the hyper-luxurious Mulsanne is the Rolls-Royce Phantom.

The Mulsanne's more fluid, modern design will appeal to some where the more staid, classical design of the Phantom will find favor with others.

Both are exquisitely luxurious, but the Mulsanne is by far the more powerful of the two, despite the Phantom's V-12 engine. It's hard to recommend either over the other, however, as both are excellent vehicles, well-designed and well-made.

They simply appeal to different types of people--a matter of personal preference.
