How does the
TCC Rating work?
The TCC Rating is a clear numeric rating value based on a 10-point scale that reflects the overall opinion of our automotive experts on any vehicle and rolls up ratings we give each vehicle across sub-categories you care about like performance, safety, styling and more.

Our rating also has simple color-coded “Stop” (red), “Caution” (orange),
or “Go” (green) messages along with the numerical score so you can easily understand where we stand at a glance.

Our automotive experts then also collect and show you what other websites say about these different aspects of any vehicle. We do this leg work for you to simplify your research process.

Our expert editors build comparisons like this one to make it easy for you to understand the small handful of cars you should compare to whatever car you are already looking at. You get general thoughts on each car you should consider plus an easy way to compare basic information for yourself.

Sporty wagons that shy from the SUV label still aren't all that common, but the Audi Allroad has competition from a few interesting sources.

Within its corporate network alone, there's the Volkswagen Jetta SportWagen--yes, it's way downmarket, but given its available turbodiesel powertrain and its unique appeal, it's not that far off the Audi's psychographic trail.

You can put the Acura TSX Sport Wagon in the same pack, though it's automatic-only, and doesn't quite have the oomph or the handling excitement to keep things as interesting as the Allroad.

There's also the Subaru Outback, which underlaps the Audi's pricetag pretty neatly, also has standard all-wheel drive, and clads up a stock sedan in all-weather wagon drag.

Those are the practical alternatives: brand-sensitive types will veer more toward something like the Volvo XC60, a great crossover with appealing interior space and Swedish sensibility, and excellent safety scores and equipment.

Then there's the outre Range Rover Evoque, more an off-roader than the Allroad and more a fashion-forward statement, too--though it's a close call as to which one makes a more effective use of sheetmetal and trim.
