Bottomline The 2008 Saab 9-7X carves a respectable SUV out of GM’s older running gear, but fuel economy and crash scores are decidedly unlike other Saabs. The 2008 Toyota 4Runner isn’t as roomy or as efficient as newer crossover designs, but if you need towing or off-road capabilities, it’s a good, safe choice.
